Alan H. Morrow 60, of 4717 Crossroads in Sandyville, died Friday February 5, 2010 in his residence following a year long battle with cancer. Born August 19, 1949 in Canton he was a son of the late Ronald and Anna (Watson) Morrow. He retired in June 2002 as a forklift operator at the Timken Company at Canton and was employed as an ambulette driver for Smith Ambulance Service from 2007 until illness forced him to retire in 2008. Al was an Army veteran and was a member and Past master of the Caldwell Masonic Lodge at Bolivar. He is survived by his wife the former Shirley Mahoney whom he married August 6, 1971. Also surviving are his son Elton D. (and companion Tonya Tullos) of the home; a daughter Alisha M. (Tony) Thiel of Bolivar; 4 grandchildren Emma, Amber and Ian Morrow and Carter Thiel; 2 sisters Joan Fladung of Canton and Terry Foss of North Canton; a brother Ronald (Marla) Morrow, Jr. of East Sparta and numerous nieces and nephews. In keeping with Al's wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service for family and friends will be held on Friday February 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Melscheimer Cemetery in Pike Township East Sparta. No calling hours will be observed. Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling the arrangements.
