Emma J. Miller 84 of 269 Smokey Lane Road NW Sugarcreek died suddenly in her home of an apparent heart attack on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 10:15 PM. Emma was born on September 17, 1925 in Sugarcreek to the late Monroe and Lizzie Ann (Hostetler) Schlabach. Emma was a homemaker and a member of the New Order Amish Church. On November 21, 1946 she married Joe J. Miller who preceded her on August 19, 2009. She is survived by one son Edward (Sharon) Miller and four daughters Esta Miller, Betty (Lavern) Schlabach, Arlene (Robert) Schlabach all of Sugarcreek and Martha Miller of Irwin, Ohio; grandchildren Lisa (John Mark) Weaver, Scott (Lauren) Miller, Heidi Miller, Jennifer, Kristina, Andrew and Eric Schlabach, great grandchildren Derek and Julie Weaver and a sister-in-law Mary Schlabach. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Roman, two sisters Katie Ann Yoder and Mary Ann Miller and one brother Noah M. Schlabach. Services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 9:00 AM at the Miller Residence with Bishop Robert A. Troyer officiating. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery on Walnut Creek Twp. Rd. 420. Friends may call anytime at the Miller residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
