Alan and I are second cousins (our fathers were first)and we had never met each other until my senior year at Lincoln H.S. On the first day of school in homeroom as our names were called out, he was sitting in front of me and had just answered "here" to his name being called out and as I answered "here" to my name,he swung around in his seat, extending his hand and asked if we were cousins. I said I thought so and so began our friendship. When I think of Alan, I see his wavy blonde hair and great smile and his friendly nature. He loved motorcycles,(that's when I knew we must be related),living out in the country and being with Shirley most of all. I haven't seen them for a long time, but if we ran into each other, we would laugh and joke and tell each other lies and have a good time! I will miss you Alan,I am greatful to have known you.May you continue to be happy on your next journey. I love you,Shirley. -John

Shirley,
Very sorry for your loss of Al. Worked with Al at Timken and I remember both of you joined us at Red's in Akron a couple of times. I'm sorry I lost touch as the years have gone by.

Shirley and family:
It was sad to hear of Alan's illness from which he couldn't recover. I send my deepest condolences that he has departed this life to go onto his next adventure. He will be missed by his family and friends. It has been many years since I last saw Alan and Shirley and I know my Mom, Robbie Morrow, would send her condolences as well.

Being around Uncle Al was always an interesting yet enjoyable experience. He was a simple man that didn’t ask for much. I grew closer with him when we both worked as Ambulette Drivers with MedCorp and then he moved on to Smith Ambulance. He spoke so highly of all the people from Smith Ambulance.
He sold me my first motorcycle with the promise that I wouldn’t kill myself with it, so far I haven’t. Although the past year has been hard, we still found time to ride. He maintained his macabre sense of humor until the end. This past year we joked together, I often told him to stay away from the light. He replied that he didn’t see the light, but he heard the whistle coming. So I guess it finally came, and I know now that he is in a better place. You will surely be missed…
